Insurance
BASE /START INSURANCE PACKAGE
Start insurance package is included in the basic rental price. It is at no additional cost to the rental price and the lessee is liable for rented car damages up to the amount of the excess fee.
Excess depends on vehicle category and ranges from 600 EUR to 1,200 EUR.
In case of vehicle theft, the excess amount is 1,200 EUR.
Includes:
- CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) – Reduces the financial responsibility from the full value of the vehicle to the excess amount in the event of an accident. Insurance does not cover damages caused to tyres, chassis, windows and vehicle interior (unless the interior damage is a result of an accident).
- TP (Theft Protection) – In case of vehicle theft, the renter’s financial responsibility is limited to 1,200 EUR, unless additional Zero Excess Theft Protection has been purchased.
MEDIUM INSURANCE PACKAGE
Medium insurance package is available at an additional cost, calculated by vehicle category and rental duration.
With the medium insurance package, the renter partially reduces the excess amount and includes SCDW to the rental package.
Excess depends on vehicle category and ranges from 300 EUR to 600 EUR.
In case of vehicle theft, the excess amount is 1,200 EUR.
Includes:
- CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
- TP (Theft Protection)
- RE (Reduced Excess) – Refers to decreasing the amount of excess which is the renter’s maximum liability. The excess amount (security deposit) is a pre-authorised amount held by the rental company to cover potential damages that are not included in the selected insurance package.
- SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver) – Reduces the financial responsibility to the excess amount in the event of an accident. Insurance does not cover damages caused to tyres, chassis, windows and vehicle interior (unless the interior damage is a result of an accident).
Premium insurance package
Premium insurance package is available at an additional cost, calculated by vehicle category and rental duration.
With the premium insurance package, the lessee completely reduces the excess amount to 0 EUR.
Premium insurance package is considered full insurance and significantly reduces the lessee’s risk and responsibility when all Terms and Conditions are respected.
In case of vehicle theft, the excess amount is 1,200 EUR unless additional theft protection is purchased.
Includes:
- CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
- TP (Theft Protection)
- SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver)
- RE (Reduced Excess)
ADDITIONAL INSURANCE OPTIONS
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
PAI is an optional insurance available at an additional daily cost and is not included in any insurance package. Coverage limits are defined by the insurance provider policy.
Tyres & Glass Protection
Tyres & Glass Protection is an optional add-on available at an additional daily cost.
This protection covers damage to:
- Tyres
- Wheels
- Windshields
- Vehicle windows
Zero Excess Theft Protection (Optional Upgrade)
Zero Excess Theft Protection is an optional add-on available at an additional daily cost.
If purchased, it reduces the renter’s financial responsibility for vehicle theft to 0 EUR.
Without this add-on, the standard theft excess of 1,200 EUR applies to all insurance packages.
What is excluded from the protection?
The renter is obligated to respect the Terms and Conditions of PS RENT A CAR.
Violation of the rental agreement may result in the void of insurance coverage (where permitted by law). Prohibited use of the vehicle violates the agreement.
Prohibited uses:
- Unauthorized repairs to the vehicle
- Negligent or drunk driving and/or driving under the influence of drugs
- Driving on unauthorized roads or to prohibited areas/countries
- Any other use that is considered a violation of official Terms and Conditions
NOT COVERED BY ANY TYPE OF INSURANCE
Wrong Fuel Usage
Wrong fuel usage refers to the act of putting the wrong type of fuel into a vehicle’s fuel tank.
If you realize you’ve put the wrong fuel in the vehicle:
- Do not start the engine
- Immediately contact PS RENT A CAR
The renter is fully responsible for the costs of repair, correction and other necessary actions related to the wrong fueling event.
Vehicle Key Loss
Vehicle key loss refers to the situation of losing the keys of the rented vehicle.
It is important to address the issue immediately to ensure the security of the rented vehicle.

The renter is fully responsible for the costs of replacement, repair and other necessary actions related to vehicle key loss.
